Your Role You will be based in a specialist college environment, collaborating with specialist tutors and learning support workers. This role offers a fantastic setting for young people aged 16+ who require specialist further education, support with learning or communication difficulties, and access to therapy and behaviour support via a multi-disciplinary team. The college provides excellent facilities and works in partnership with local charities and employers to ensure the best opportunities for the students.
Duties
- Lead and manage the staff team responsible for supporting young people in education.
- Serve as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and providing any necessary training.
- Prepare person-centered plans and work directly with students and support teams.
- Oversee new referrals, assessments, and the onboarding process.
- Ensure our services meet the needs of new students, facilitating a smooth transition process.
Criteria
- Experience in the social care sector, whether with adults or children and young people.
- Essential knowledge of safeguarding and compliance.
- Desirable experience working in an SEN education environment.
- Experience managing new referrals and conducting assessments.
