Full Time Interim SEN Teaching Assistant job vacancy, close to the Preston Area of Lancashire. 

Location
This position is based 6 miles Southwest of Preston via the A59 or A6 and is also commutable from Blackburn (22 mins) via the M65 or surrounding areas.

This job vacancy is working for a Specialist Education School for pupils aged 10 -16 years of age. Every member of the team has a common goal to empower the young people through learning so they can achieve their goals and a positive future.

  • Working towards Level 2 in Support Work in Schools or equivalent is desirable.
  • Level 2-3 Teaching Assistant Qualification – or willing to work towards.
  • Knowledge of working in an SEN setting employed or voluntary.
  • Knowledge or experience of working within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge & experience of pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and having a passion for working within the sector – essential.
  • You must be over the age of 21.

Your Role
You will be key in supporting the Children / Young People & the Class Teacher with their learning and general well-being.  Your role as Teaching Assistant will be to care for the children as well as develop their learning whilst in school and outside settings.  You will work with colleagues to develop routine and positive behaviour. You will support the Teacher with the day to day running of the classroom and lesson preparation.
