Duties
As their SENDCO you will work with the leadership and speech & Language Therapy team to develop the school’s special education needs provision.  You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of that policy with the aim of raising pupil achievement.
  •  Monitor learning activities and teaching to meet the needs of the students.
  • Track AFL data for Annual reviews, PEP’s, LAC Reviews and general reporting.
  • Liaise with other schools to ensure continuity when transferring pupils.
  • Promote best practice and contribute to the ethos and values of the school.
  • Set targets to raise achievements.
  • Liaise with parents, Head Teacher and SLT on the effectiveness of provision.
  • Identify suitable resources.
Criteria
  • A recognised SENCO Qualification, or a SEN Teacher willing to undertake SENCO.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of working with SEN & SEND practice.
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to challenging / behaviour.
  • A desire and passion to put children first and treat them as individuals.
